Guest Speaker - Nancy Wood
Nancy Wood is Director of Events for the Bastrop County Historical Society Museum and Visitor Center. She took her position last year to help develop downtown events that draw tourists to the historic area. Her first endeavor was to bring back Yesterfest, an almost 30-year traditional event in Bastrop, that had stopped for over 5 years. The event was small, and successful, so there is another scheduled for this May, on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend.
Nancy comes to her position after retiring from the City of Bastrop as the Bastrop Main Street Program Director from 2007 to 2016. She had a decades-long career in corporate sales and management training for an international bank, and in department store retailing for a West Coast company. She and her husband have called Bastrop home since 2002.
